You may have noticed, on every property listing, agent profile, and homestay listing on Hartanah Bumiputera, there is a "๐ฌ WhatsApp Agent" button, which, when clicked on a computer, automatically opens WhatsApp Web (web.whatsapp.com) with a pre-filled message, without you needing to scan a QR code or manually type a number. This is not a coincidence, it was specifically built using the official WhatsApp Click-to-Chat API.
How It Works
- On desktop: Clicking the WhatsApp button opens a new tab to wa.me/<number>,ย if you are already logged into WhatsApp Web in the same browser, it directly opens the conversation with a pre-filled message (for example "Salam, I am interested in this property: [listing title] [link]"). If you are not logged in, the browser will ask you to scan a QR code as usual.
- On mobile: The same button opens the WhatsApp app directly (not WhatsApp Web), with the same pre-filled message,ย no need to save the contact number in advance.
Where Is This Feature Available?
- Every page property listing details,ย the "๐ฌ WhatsApp Agent" button is directly below the agent information.
- Agent profile individual, contact directly without needing to open a specific listing.
- Homestay listing,ย potential guests can directly inquire about availability.
- Buyer's Board,ย every agent response to buyer/tenant inquiries also includes a WhatsApp button for immediate follow-up.
- WhatsApp QR Code,ย agents can download their own personal QR code (generated from their registered WA number) to be used on business cards, physical "For Sale/Rent" banners, or social media.
Why Not Just an Internal Chat System?
Hartanah Bumiputera also provides its own internal Inbox/Message system (for formal conversation records, offers & meeting appointments), but the direct WhatsApp button exists because it is the fastest and most commonly used method by Malaysian buyers to contact agents, no account registration or login is required before asking the first question.
Privacy note: the WhatsApp numbers displayed are those agents voluntarily registered on their own profiles, buyers can choose to contact via the platform's internal Inbox as an alternative if they prefer.
